He's a role player, which we need.  Very good return specialist when he was at Fresno, and he did a lot of damage on bubbles and rain/lane screens. 

Caught a lot of passes during his college career.

I don't necessarily know if I'd say I prefer Saunders to Thomas, but if they're both at receiver in the NFL, Saunders is the better choice in that spot.
