Tim Olyphant should probably shoot you in the face for such blasphemy.

How fun is this pitching staff? If this team can just maintain innings where they get the first couple of runners on, they'll win a ton of games.

As much crap as I talk about Gardner, he needs to be up at the top of the lineup, not the bottom. They need to stack the "make something happen" guys together. Ideally, I'd go this way:

Gardner LF
Jeter SS
Ellsbury CF
Beltran RF
McCann C
Soriano DH
Solarte 3B
Roberts 2B
Johnson 1B
Teams that draft well do so no matter where they pick. Teams that draft poorly do so no matter where they pick I want my team to win games and draft well

Nunez traded to Minnesota for LHP Miguel Sulbaran, a 20-year-old Single-A lefty.

The fact that the Yankees got any return for Nunez is great. I saw word that the belief is that Nunez will get a shot at the majors this year with Minny, since their infield depth is poor.

Today is the first time since last May the Yankees are in first place in the AL East. Hopefully they keep rolling.

DRob is out two weeks with a pulled groin. Nuno was recalled to take his roster spot. Kelly is a no-go if there is a save situation today. I would assume it'll either be Warren or Betances if there is a save situation today.

Maybe we should just skip the first inning.

Or the whole thing. Yikes. Just terrible pitching today. Nova had a tough time in Houston too, but the 5 DPs bailed him out. He had a very good spring, but it hasn't carried over. Hopefully they figure out what's going on.

On a different note, George King is reporting that the Brewers have a special scout following the Yankees. The speculation is they're looking at the Yankees' catchers. According to River Ave Blues, the Yanks scouted Rickie Weeks a while back, who is now a bench player. Another name speculated by River Ave Blues was Aramis Ramirez.

Ramirez would be an interesting option. Then they could move Solarte over to second. That'd extend the lineup a bit more. I'm not sure Milwaukee would be particularly interested in moving Ramirez right now, given that they're off to a good start. I wouldn't want Weeks, especially for as valuable a chip as a starting-caliber catcher.

Freaking Delmon Young. The Yankees should have just picked him up a few years ago to keep him from killing them every time he plays against them.

Anyway, I didn't think I'd say 5 runs wasn't enough too often this year, but here we are. Hit the reset button and come out with that same offense for Tanaka tomorrow.
