my backlog of games is so long that i look at this list and want to buy some of them, but have to figure out whether i've bought it already and just haven't played

that's fair.

In my own experience....for example, the new NHL game....I'd sit down after dinner, load the game, sift through all the modes/screens trying to figure out what's what, maybe play a few tutorials so i don't skate around the ice like Puck, and then finally play a single game in franchise mode.  I look up at the clock and it's 2am.

That's all i was saying when i meant by having the time to play these games.  I could sit and watch 2 movies, and be in bed by 10pm.

I'm much the same, I tend to only play games when I can immerse myself for a few hours at a time which is why I go months at a time without turning the console on. Lots of people seem to be able to just pick up and play for a hour or two at a time though.

it used to be like that...play for an hour or two, and then turn it off.  The games and tech have gotten so complex that you need to book a few days off work to sit and play it properly.
