Byron Maxwell has to become our top FA target if we hire Dan Quinn

At OC sounds like it's either shanahan or cable.

DC will probably be somebody from the Seattle staff. Perhaps their secondary coach?

If Maxwell is our top target, we are already worse off in the FO then we have been.  Highest probability, yeah, I agree.

How is targeting the best free agent defensive back not the best possible move for us?

Adding a player familiar with the scheme can kickstart the rebuild.

You know coaches prioritize bringing in their guys to help get their schemes off the ground.

Add the rest of the statement to the quote.  I agree it is the highest probability.

do the Ditka for Justin Houston
My dad always says he's undefeated at tailgating

Maybe it's not I who doesn't know what he's talking about

So you would rather target Maxwell over, say, Houston?

Maxwell probably wont get half of what Houston will... One shouldnt prohibit the other

depends on the scheme we are running, if we are a primary 4-3 I don't know how good Houston is with his hand on the ground. On top of that, are you giving big money to a guy like Houston and keeping snacks? On a 4 man line snacks would be an expensive backup.

Regardless of scheme, I know we need corners. So putting maxwell on the contact at midnight on the opening of FA list is fine by me. Hell I'd put 3 guys on it if we get Quinn, Maxwell, Houston and Iupati (also an elite WR if Dez or Bay Bay Thomas happens to hit the market for completely unknown reasons.)

Did I say he would or wouldn't, or it should or shouldn't?  He isn't a top target player, and that isn't to say he wouldn't be our first signing.

Top target, and first signing are two different things.

Yes.  I don't think Maxwell is the better overall FA, but he's the best option for us.

We're going to have so much money invested into the front four already.

Wilkerson is about to break the bank.  Richardson will be due big money soon.  Harrison needs to be extended sometime soon too.   And it's a make-or-break year for Coples.
