Back on topic.   LB options?  I suspect one will be a draft pick.  Penguin might move to DE depth in a 4-3.

Looking at the link I posted, ther lbs are slim pickings.

It's fair to say Trent Richardson is only slightly better than Vernon Gholston and will be out of the league in two years barring an incredible change in production/dedication going forwards

Vernon Gholston could probably have a 3.3 YPA.

If only we could've traded Gholston for a 1st.

Which is why a healthy 24 year old top 5 pick (potential) would be available for essentially the vet minimum to compete to be a 2nd/3rd string running back

Very low risk move, and his appeal would be wanting to play for a run heavy coach, who has a history of turning nobodies into success stories.

Whats the worst that happens, we give him a 1 year vet min deal to be our #3 runningback and end up cutting him?

Sean Weatherspoon was the only good defensive player on the falcons until he got hurt. Still pretty young. Can fit in a 4-3 defense and will probably be much cheaper than if he had played this year.

Akeem Ayers is a decent fit in a 4-3 as well.

I'd rather spend a draft pick on someone who knows how to run in a zone based running game if we get Kubiak or Shanahan.
