Today makes it seem almost like preseason games and padded practices are a good idea.
Preseason games don't prevent injury

Talent evaluation is going to be the main argument for keeping it.

Preseason games don't prevent injury

Not impact injuries, but game conditioning plays a big part in preventing soft tissue injuries like tears, pulls and strains. No amount of time in the gym or running drills will make an athlete game fit.

Panthers’ RB Christian McCaffrey is expected to be sidelined “multiple weeks” with the ankle injury he suffered Sunday, per source.

49ers believe that Bosa and Thomas both did their ACLs yesterday.

Maybe there is something to that set of turf complaints that were floating around yesterday after the game

was there fvcked up turf with the entire league yesteday? the entire nfl saw players dropping like flies. bosa's leg got caught awkwardly after being manhandled/taken down by wesco. jimmy G got a little fvckd after taking a late hit. i find a hard time believing either of those are turf related. i got to watch the thomas injury again because idk.

i feel bad that the 9ers experienced as many injuries as they did yesterday but it seems like an easy/convenient thing to blame the turf for all of their misfortune yesterday. the turf may in fact suck but i think that's just a shitty coincidence

I feel sorry for Thomas.

You'd have to think that a series of performance tests were conducted upon installation including 'kicking the tires' (i.e. running/cutting on it).  In any event, NFL officials are going to conduct a look-see ar Met-Life:

 https://www.49erswebzone.com/articles/140162-nfl-examine-metlife-stadium-several-injuries-during-49ers-jets/

https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2020/09/20/nfl-field-operations-to-take-a-look-at-metlife-stadium-turf/

If Met Life doesn't blow out ACL's and Florham Park hammys......common denominator: Gase

The Steelers/Giants game did not end in a shitload of injuries. Did they replace the turf between then and the 9ers/Jets game?

Also the Jets didn't get a load of lower body injuries yesterday. Why would bad turf target one team?

Jets coach Adam Gase said C Connor McGovern (hamstring) is considered week to week.

Both Breshad Perriman (ankle) and McGovern are expected to miss Week 3 against the Colts. McGovern will be replaced by Josh Andrews moving forward. Fortunately for fantasy players, there's no need to roster a single name on the Jets at this time.
