for the first time in four seasons

he is not dependable

And he was also terrible. The only good thing that could be said about him is that he actually played this time.

We've beaten the round 2 thing to death already, but I wonder what our success rate on first rounders is. Feels like we've had a lot of whiffs.
Teams that draft well do so no matter where they pick. Teams that draft poorly do so no matter where they pick I want my team to win games and draft well

The Sermon on Mount Becton has been officially destroyed by a bolt of lightning.

We've beaten the round 2 thing to death already, but I wonder what our success rate on first rounders is. Feels like we've had a lot of whiffs.

Let's do it for the last 5 years
2023 - Will McDonald - Inconclusive
2022 - Sauce Gardner - All Pro
2022 - Garrett Wilson - OROY
2022 - Jermaine Johnson - Pro Bowl
2021 - Zach Wilson - Bust
2021 - Alijah Vera-Tucker - Good when healthy
2020 - Mekhi Becton - Bust
2019 - Quinnen Williams - All Pro

So we've had 4 hits, 1 good when healthy and 2 busts. I guess it's par for course for the rest of the NFL. Our hits have been massive hits though.

We've generally done well in the 1st round. The rest of the draft has been the bigger issue.

The bad ones just stick in memory more

Zach, Darnold, Becton and going back a little further Quinton Coples, Darron Lee, Calvin Pryor, Dee Milliner, Kyle Wilson. Even guys that worked out didn't work for long like Mo Wilk, Sheldon Richardson, Leonhard Williams, Jamal Adams.
Teams that draft well do so no matter where they pick. Teams that draft poorly do so no matter where they pick I want my team to win games and draft well
