So can he just not play gunner? I'm shocked with how well he and Hall did against Philly and neither of them are unable to unseat Echols.

Echols has track speed.  It's why Ashtyn Davis still has a role on this football team too. 

They can both fly around on special teams.

We really miss Justin Hardee and his ability to play in control on special teams.  Charles is pretty good, but he tends to overrun the play like Echols does.  Can't have that mistake on both sides consistently.

It may have been Whitehead's assignment that got missed, but Echols was lined up on Shakir pre-snap and just got blown right by. Then, as Sauce was catching up to make the tackle, Echols got in the way.

How does he have a job?
