I've heard a variety of reviews of this movie ranging from very positive to not so much, but the best one was "plugs the guitar of incoherence into the amplifier of stupid, turns up to 11 and shreds for 120 minutes".

Nevermind, he doesn't review movies any longer.

Chap by the name of Stuart Barr. His full review is here:

I haven't seen the movie so I don't know yet whether I agree with him or not, I just liked the turn of phrase.

He gave Blue Ruin and Cheap Thrills high praise, so his review for X-Men worries me.

I'm still going to see it ASAP though.

It's the usual "you can't seriously be that serious" review from someone trying to make a name for himself by taking a contrarian approach.  It's a movie predicated on people having mutant abilities.  His concerns largely seem silly.  The point about having underdeveloped side characters was one of the film's best parts.  It focused on the central characters and left the others as cool power foot soldiers.  Didn't try to make you care about Blink or Sunspot etc.

I heard that Bishop kind of sucked, and I am not pleased by this.

He's an ancillary character.  His powers are all that matter, not his character.  It worked for me, but I don't know his story.

To be honest, the fact that none of you are shredding it has be intrigued.  Bar set low, I thought the previous movie was quite good.  Is this better/even/worse than First Class?

I trashed this movie before giving it a chance but this is above and beyond the best xmen movie out of the previous ones. In my opinion it was better then cap 2 and the avengers.

And quite frankly I don't see how the avengers quicksilver will beat the one in days of future past.

The Quicksilver POV scene was definitely the best part of the movie.
