Cosentino's not on board.http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/2015/01/jets_considering_train_wreck_for_front-office_role.html#incart_river_sports
TIL what a lemon party is
As has been mentioned, his 2009 draft was decent. However, Gabbert, Alualu, and a goddamn punter in the 3rd clearly indicate that the man was an imbecile as far as being a GM. The whole "married guys sure are awesome!" thing is downright dumbfuckery as well. I would not be overjoyed to have him close to the team.
"Hello good sir GM, may we pretty please have your throwaway centers and gords please??!? I'll suck yo'dick!"
Does anyone know what role they're considering him for?
Old head
Gene Smith might not be as bad a move as you think It's not like we're bringing him in to be our head scout Guy could simply help our new GM with some of the nuisances and bullshit work they have to do, other than just build a talented team
That's what he is being brought in to do, help with the day to day functions. If you have the chance of starting new with any people you can pick, pick good people.Don't start with people that are going to get questioned and put people's defenses/radar up immediately.
But what if he's good at what hes being brought in to do? From all accounts it sounds like our new GM is pretty smart at talent and draft evaluation but be lacks the business/financial knowledge. So hopefully gene Smith will effectively be the team accountant
We dodged one I think, still not happy about this in the freaking least. I don't understand hiring abject failures or coaches from trees that are wilted:http://www.ganggreennation.com/2015/1/15/7553763/schefter-gene-smith-might-take-on-advisory-role
