You all want to excrement your pants?  What if he brings the Bills OC with him?

I'll let those of you who don't know who that is google him/his proud papa.

Bills fans wanted to murder Nate Hackett. Of course so did Syracuse fans early in his career there.

Nate has lots of room to improve as a play caller, but his system requires a capable QB (then again what system doesn't) which we don't have.

I don't think I'd be happy to add Marrone over guys like Bowles and Quinn.

Also we need a GM before Marrone IMO.

FWIW Steiny says we've reached out to him already, but we can wait for a better source on that.

My first thought about him opting out was "he must really hate EJ Manuel". But it's hard to imagine him liking Geno Smith more.

If he comes here he'd essentially be getting handed a Rex defense twice in a row.

I can see many reasons why he'd want us, why would we want him over other people we've talked to (or are about to talk too?)

We've apparently inquired about Jim Mora.

I'm just gonna post this so IS doesn't have to: Why did the Jets want Rich Kotite?

Doug Marrone has link to one of Jets' GM candidates, Eagles pro personnel director Rick Mueller. Worked 3 yrs together w/ NO (06-08). #nyj

Marrone was Drew Brees' offensive coordinator for three years so he should know the difference between a franchise quarterback and a scrub.

The #Jets no doubt saw the Marrone news coming. They interviewed assistant Anthony Lynn today, fulfilling the Rooney Rule. They can hire.

He was also our offensive line coach from '02-'05. He's got strong ties to New York, having played and coached at Syracuse.

And yet EJ Manuel was still drafted. Now the owner being almost dead influenced the choice, but going all in for Watkins is still somewhat questionable given the WR talent a year ago.

They also want to interview Bowles.

I can't see us hiring a coach before a GM. I just can't.

Doesn't mean Marrone isn't our guy, just that I can't see us hiring him before a GM

I blame the GM more than the coach for those moves. Marrone benched Manuel for Orton after two games so he clearly didn't have that much faith in him.

Marrone no doubt had to sign off on the guy, but yes I agree Marrone identified early that Manuel isn't the guy.

On a positive note, if Marrone does come here, Geno will be shipped out before the next season starts, he freaking hates that DBag going back to their days at Cuse and WVU

There were rumors that Marrone didn't have the support of the Bills front office so maybe he didn't sign off on their draft/personnel decisions.

I'd be more excited about marrone if he came Pettine.

But maybe morrone would want to roll with Dunbar and try to maintain a similar defense to what we had under Rex and he had in Buffalo
