I honestly don't think I've sought out to see any movie I liked as a kid remade any time recently. Why the freak would I want to see will smiths kid reprise Daniel LoRusso? I don't begrudge people for what they want to do or see, but I don't do remakes.

I'm with you.  However, people do see them, and so Hollywood keeps seeking them out.  Known entities are the easiest movies to get made today.

FTR I just now watched the trailer.  It's not even remotely the same movie.  So at least there's that.  It'll be dreadful with some cool stunts.  A smart plan to make a movie.  The product will pull audiences and suck.

San Andreas was terrible.  It was a true Sophie's Choice for me.  San Andreas or Spy.  Mad Max is staring me in the face but it was not one of the options provided by the wife.

The Day After Tomorrow is far from a great movie, but it is 100 times better than this tripe.

There were 2 really cool scenes that could have been in a video game.  Top notch CGI.  I wish I could erase the rest of that crap from my brain.

The trailer for Point Break shown before San Andreas was far superior to San Andreas.  And the trailer was freaking absurd.

Lol you chose San Andreas over a movie getting great reviews and universal praise from people who see it.  I doubt I'll go see Spy in theaters, but everyone I know who did liked it.
