The outcome is out of your control. Even if you have the best fantasy team ever assembled, they could get shut down on a given week or your opponent can outscore you.

That being said, I've played enough FF to know that there are people that are good at it and people that are bad at it.

I would agree that daily fantasy such as fanduel/Draftkings is comparable to poker, but season long fantasy football requires more complicated decisions over a period of time (draft, weekly lineup, waiver wire) so that it's not just about playing probabilities in a snap decision. There's much more strategy required.

I am not convinced Poker is a game of skill over the long term, I know unequivocally it's a game of skill over the long term. To argue otherwise means you know freak all about it. A long game of chance is something you play out to the end no matter what based on odds. Like Blackjack, Craps, Roulette. They all have a predetermined end, poker does not.

That's not a fair comparison though. Poker is a zero sum game, the ones you list are not. Better poker players win more because they understand and play probabilities of chance better than other players; chance is the very core of the game.

Everyone seems to be really pissed about these commercials, but we don't appear to have them up here so I still know absolutely nothing about these companies and I'm confused as to how daily fantasy football works given we don't have football every day.

I saw a list of advertisers for the past calendar week and Draftkings was #1 at 16.3 mill and fanduel was 5th at 13 mill. They were beating companies like Verizon and AT&T.
