One of my biggest frustrations in education was something called "social promotion" -- no matter how poorly a kid was doing, they'd pass no matter what.  Get them in and get them out. 

Had several kids do absolutely no work for a semester and they still got a certificate of completion.  Can't imagine how stupid things are with kids doing school from home.

I had a kid that would literally just rewrite the questions as his answer on all quizzes and tests.  Amazing stuff. 

I saw him staring at a gallon of milk at the grocery store once.  I did some shopping, came back around to that section of the store, and he was still staring at it. 

Pretty sure he's still alive.

Love how one of the links is about calls to close that school. Yeah that'll solve the problem, one less school.
