Fun fact: the Jets could have drafted 3 out of the 4 starting QBs, Jagoff being the only exception. Which is weird because they didn't tank and yet quality starting QBs were still available?
i personally invest in tanks (which in the big picture obviously means excrement and doesn't change anything at all) when there is a clear #1 and possibly generational prospect available, as was the case in the trevor lawrence draft.
otherwise, in a lost/losing season, would more losses and a higher pick be ideal? sure it would and it's something i'd still prefer, but if we end up with some wins i won't lose my head over it. if we're not missing out on the generational prospect, then we should be able to find a very good prospect within the top 15. just draft well.
as you said, we could have had mahomes and we had the 6th pick, not 1. we could have drafted either allen or lamar jackson even without our trade-up in 2018 (horrible franchise ramifications from that trade afterward). jordan love went 26. many of us thought we wouldn't be able to land becton at 11 back in 2020; we did, and the better OT prospect/player still went one pick later.
i think we will end up with someone good at OL this year at 10. my biggest concern is that our retard GM may go BPA and draft tight end because he's a freaking poopchute
