Revis had an all-time great season to his credit. He played 11 seasons.
Revis is a HoFer and I'd make the argument he should be a first-ballot. You can make arguments that other guys had better overall careers, but Revis was the unquestioned best at his position for a while. That's the standard, as SFD alluded to--best of your era.
Oh there's no doubt that he had the one or two best seasons ever as a corner
But he played at that level for 2 years?
Then played at a high level for another 2-3 years
Then the other 5 or 6 years??
Compared to someone like Patrick Peterson, Richard Sherman, Talib, Bailey, Woodson
Seems like these guys aged much more gracefully
