As long as Darnold is playing, it's actually fun to watch. As much as I want the #1 pick and Lawrence, it's a better solution if Darnold turns into the star we think he can. He needs to show it on the field. And I think he has a chance to do it. He has a lot stacked against him, but a 3rd-year Darnold should still rise above and show more than just occasional flashes.
Honestly, give me a bunch of 42-35 losses the rest of the year, where we have to face the excruciating position of trading Darnold, who looks like a rising star despite the 1-15 record, or passing up the chance at a generational QB in Lawrence.
First drive was largely running game, but Sam made a few plays. Hope he keeps making plays.
