Man, if the Dodgers had lost and then Turner was gone for g7 and they lost again, the conspiracies would be freaking crazy.

Too bad

Beautiful
Personally I would be too happy celebrating to boo the man but I guess a lot of the people there were neutral fans

He’s Goodell level bad or worse so he deserves to be booed any time the fans have the opportunity, which is not often.

I normally don't stay tuned for trophy presentations unless my team wins, which is almost never. I do remember Bettman always getting booed when he would come out with the Stanley Cup back in the day. The first time the Devils won I was there and booed him, at that time it looked like the Devils were moving to Nashville and the fans were pissed at him. But I've noticed other fans do it too, so I thought maybe that was just a hockey fan thing.
So it turns out, Italian Seafood was right an everyone can go freak themselves.

Analytics are ruing the game!

They have their place, particularly in the regular season, but in a situation like last night you have to look at the game in front of you and trust your eyes. That guy threw 73 pitches and we weren't touching him. Get a guy ready if you like, but he might have pitched a complete game the way he was going.

Also, before this thread is derailed: analytics do not suggest taking Snell out in that spot. They also don’t suggest putting in Nick Anderson, who has struggled all postseason. Kevin Cash just made a stupid freaking decision.

Not on purpose. They've done it a few times, I'm not against it, but the way Snell was throwing we couldn't freak around last night with Gonsolin or anyone else. I was worried we went through so many guys so early, if the game ended up going extras I guess May would have had to go in and stay in.

I'll buy that. I was shocked, enough that I posted here in real time because I was pretty sure what was going to happen next. If I waited it would have just been hindsight.

On a side note, my teams have a very odd history of success in shortened seasons:
1981 Dodgers, won World Series
1982 Jets, reached AFC Championship game
1995 Devils, won Stanley Cup
1999 Knicks, reached NBA Finals
2020 Dodgers, won World Series
So it turns out, Italian Seafood was right an everyone can go freak themselves.

Dave Roberts probably went by committee in gm 6 knowing he had that Forrest Buehler guy for game 7.  Either way the better team won.

Yeah, LA gave them a game and still won in 6.

Most of the pitchers didn't go long, so they'd have all been available for a Game 7, including then also Kershaw for a short time. I was thinking if Game 6 got tied and went long, we had Jansen who is good for an inning or two, and May who is a starter and could probably last in a long game for a while. The new 3-batter rule probably saves Roberts from himself in games like this.

Also, thinking about this, I'm so happy Kershaw not only gets a ring but was a big part of the Series, won 2 games. I kind of equate him to late 90s Ewing, with the team around him stronger while he's still good but not dominant. Buehler would be the Houston or Sprewell by comparison.

Tony LaRussa's walking corpse is the new Chisox manager.
Teams that draft well do so no matter where they pick. Teams that draft poorly do so no matter where they pick I want my team to win games and draft well
