This is the biggest non issue this offseason. Gase is literally the head coach, OC, QB coach rolled into one. He needs someone there with the title who will sit quietly and collect paychecks to keep his mouth shut all day. As much as I'd be happy to take that job, I wasn't asked and the vast majority of people who are coaches aren't going to take that job--they'd actually like to do something.
You actually have zero idea what Loggains’ involvement will entail outside of not calling the plays.

If he can help Sam learn Gase's offense then it's worth it.

“Gameplanning and tutoring Sam Darnold on a day-to-day basis” according to Cimini
My dad always says he's undefeated at tailgating

Maybe it's not I who doesn't know what he's talking about

You’re right, there are probably zero coaches out there that want the opportunity to work with Sam Darnold

TOTJ fag won't stop being a whiny bitch about this, so it's a good hire in my book.

VYwent to the Pro Bo in 2009 as well. Loggains wasn't QB coach in either year, at least if Wikipedia is correct. Not sure what any of that proves.

You're right. I had my years wrong. He became QB coach in 2010 and I forgot Young made the Pro Bowl in 09.

My only point was to illustrate that Loggains has mostly had excrement to work with and perhaps we should reserve judgment until he and Gase show what they can do with Darnold.

The offense is Gase's offense. You guys are getting way too upset over Loggains. He's a package deal with Gase. Just accept it. He'll be there to gameplan and do what Gase needs him to do.

He's the new Dennis Thurman.

And to Alio's point - I don't think Gase is going to be doing too many things at once. Remember, the last 3 years, he did all of that AND run a lot of the personnel stuff.

I’m on the fence with him too...

That fence should be a more like a big beautiful wall.
So it turns out, Italian Seafood was right an everyone can go freak themselves.

I was being hyperbolic to make a point. I don't think Loggains is literally going to sit in a corner quietly playing with Legos all day.

He's just not going to be the primary guy in Sam's development. Building on what Derek Smalls said, Gase has to be more aware of the demands on his time here than he was in Miami. Loggains is the guy who will fill the role of being in charge during practice while Gase oversees the team, and he'll certainly work with Darnold on learning the offense, but at the end of the day, this is Gase's offense and I highly doubt he's letting anyone else run it.
Teams that draft well do so no matter where they pick. Teams that draft poorly do so no matter where they pick I want my team to win games and draft well
