Gregg Williams has agreed to a 3-year deal as the #Jets new defensive coordinator, source said. He’s flying to the NY/NJ area to sign the contract, but the expected is now official and done. Adam Gase gets his top choice at DC.

If the Bucs release Gerald McCoy, Maccagnan better be waiting outside of his house.

he'll be 31 in Feb...might be a little long in the tooth, no?

I suppose if we get him on the cheap, he'd be a nice addition.

Just like Rex recruited Bart Scott. At his doorstep waiting to sign his derriere.

We need leaders and McCoy is as good as we are gonna find.
Need a new one for a new board...

Two years younger than Steve McClendon.  Same age as impending free agent DE Brandon Graham.

Sounds like Geg is bringing his kid Blake in to coach LBs....I guess that leaves Kevin Greene our in the cold.

Kevin Greene can coach DEs or the DL maybe, but whatever.  It's not like we had much success with him here.

Not like we gave him much help either. I feel like he did a solid job given the players at his disposal, wouldn't hurt to keep him around

If it's a scheme change, then he may not be the best fit.  I don't see why Gregg wouldn't want a badass like Greene around though.

“Newly-hired Jets defensive coordinator Gregg Williams is looking to fill out his staff. From what I'm hearing, some names under consideration are: LBs — Blake Williams, his son; DBs — Dennard Wilson (retained from previous Jets staff); DL Clyde Simmons. Assistant DBs — Steve Jackson (previous Jets staff). Simmons and Williams were with Williams last season in Cleveland. Wilson and Jackson coached with Williams in previous stops. Kris Kocurek was eyed for the DL job (he coached under Adam Gase last year in Miami), but he was hired by San Francisco.”

Dennard Wilson is a good coach.

Clyde Simmons coached Aaron Donald as a rookie and also potential free agent Robert Quinn.

At this point, I will be surprised if we don't sign Robert Quinn if/when Miami releases him.
