Men are funnier than women, but there are definitely funny women. To say otherwise is just trolling.

JW's race is a bigger obstacle to her becoming the host than her gender. CC already filled their black quota with Larry Wilmore.

There are funny women. Just not funny female stand up comedians which is how the macro view of comedy generally exists.

In general though, humor is not a skill women have to develop socially or culturally.  Men are funnier than women because they have to be.

Most female stand up comedians that make it big do so because of their marketability, not their talent.

See: Ellen DeGeneres

You wouldn't like Broad City

I didn't say my comment to be sexist and without my normal "broad" schtick:

I think women can be very funny, I just do not find women stand up comedians to be very funny. The ones I like are really raunchy, for instance I think Lisa Lampanelli's stand up is pretty good. Many of the people I talk to are of this general opinion as well. I honestly don't know what it is about women stand up's.

She has lots of talent but it's not stand up talent. She appeals to a lot of people, including hot blonds.

I didn't think you were.  I was just trying to save you from checking out this show because I doubt you'll like it.

I'm waiting for Iggy to come in and tell us all that Bridesmaids was the greatest comedy of all time.

Not the greatest of all time, but certainly a great comedy.  I even think new Ghostbusters has a chance of being good.

FTR I don't have any female comics I go out of my way to listen to.  Can't comment on the standup one.  There are good comedic performances from women in TV and film, though.

I watched band of brothers for the first time. Just one of those shows/miniseries I never made a point of watching.

But it was just funny to see Brody from Homeland, lead office space guy, Boardwalk Al Capone, Robert Quarels from Justified, bad boys 1 henchman , Alvarez from Oz and that wormy little david schwimmer all in 1 episode.

It's almost freeks and geeks level of retroactive cast evaluation

Man you're just seeing this now? It came out during 9/11. It has to be the single best mini-series ever produced. Richard Winters (Damien Lewis, Brody) is one of those truly special people that came out of that war, it's a shame many of the people the show portrayed died since it debuted.
