Rex Ryan NYJ Hot Seat
« on: December 01, 2013, 04:30:16 PM »
I don't even give a excrement if this is premature.  Rex is on borrowed time now, and i expect him to be shown the door at the end of the season if the Jets continue to embarrass themselves in this manner.

I'll throw out these names:

the Gruden twins (Jon or Jay)
David Shaw (HC Stanford)
Josh McDaniels (as much as i hate NWE, their offense has been pretty good without any significant weapons for Brady)

Who else is worth a look?

I say no to the OC who never did anything when he didn't have a HOF QB.

David Shaw is relevant to my interests.

Maybe I need to give Jay Gruden more credit. Andy Dalton isn't amazing.

I'd like to volunteer.  I have no experience coaching football at any level but I have a sunny disposition and impeccable taste in music.

Seriously, if Rex gets fired, it just has to be someone on the offensive side of the ball.  I don't even think it would be the worst idea to promote Morningwood.  He's presiding over a excrement offense but I don't think anyone's blaming the Coordinator at this point.

Of the names batted around, Shaw is the guy I would be most excited about by far.

At this point there's really not much of a point in keeping Rex around if this team continues to excrement the bed.

The only unit of this team that's loaded at talent is the d-line and they sure as hell aren't gonna regress just because Rex got canned. Our linebackers are mediocre at best and the secondary is pee poor so that shows how much being a defensive guru means for us even with questionable talent in the secondary.

There's really not much to say about the offense, Mornhinweg has done all he can but I wouldn't be upset if he was shown the door along with the rest of Rex's staff after the season.

Bevell is my favorite out of that group. Maybe Roman, hopefully Harbaugh's guru-ness rubbed off on him. If we move away from Rex, I don't want another DC.

I'd be happy to have Mike Zimmer.  His guys love him.

As far as offensive minds go, I don't think we'll be landing the belle of the ball, fellas.  I'd rather go coach an offense with most of its pieces in place, like Houston, Minnesota or Washington.

I have the same issue I do with McDaniels about him.

Gase is also way more inexperienced.

I really do not want a college coach with no NFL coaching experience (Head Coach or Coordinator).

I do want Rex Ryan to stay.  No coach could win with this offense, but to appease some, he drafted everyone so fire him.

I'd like Rex to stay too (depending on how things play out this month), but I have no problem discussing the likely future. If we don't win 8 games, he's not likely to stay. At 7 wins I'd give him a 50/50 chance. Any less and he's gone.
