Sanchez was never benched after really shitty games. Well except for last season.

It's much harder to bench the #5 overall pick, Brunell wasn't a realistic option, and rookie QBs weren't as successful pre-2009 as they have been in recent years.

I'm probably just being biased to justify my late support of Sanchez but I feel as though there is much less talent difference between Smith to Simms than Sanchez to Brunell/Tebow/McElroy, when in actuality Geno and Sanchez are probably much closer than I'm willing to admit.

Definitely.  Sanchez was the #5 overall pick for a reason.

Simms has a cannon, prototypical size, and decent wheels.

Makes sense.

I don't think any qb on this team is the best option next year.  The wrench is that this team is still in contention for the playoffs.

Again inspite of QB play, this team is contending

I can't support Simms just yet. I fell into the Geno love trap just because he wasn't Sanchez. Not making the same mistake again.

Yea but they're probably at the same level of dumb which probably negates Sanchez's physical abilities.

So you'll just stick with supporting a QB who has proven to be mistake prone.

If your switched your biggest mistake would be thinking Simms would win games for the Jets. I'm just hoping that he would be better at not throwing the ball to the defense.

Not making the same mistake again?  This is already the second time you've made it after Tebow.

@BrianCoz:
Pace on turnovers: "We’ve seen that for the last six years. Throw the ball to the other team, you will lose." #nyj

Matt Simms: also not Mark Sanchez.

But also has the added bonus of being not Geno Smith, he has like this double bonus thing going on

Ouch. But he isn't even remotely wrong. Anybody think it's a shot at Favre as well, or just bad math for Pace?

I think he meant exactly what he said.

Favre threw 22 INTs, which is more than any QB in Pace's time here.
