I keep seeing random Twitter accounts proposing Fields/Wilson swaps that involve the Jets throwing in a 2nd or 3rd round pick. Wilson stinks, but how is Fields worth that much more compared to Wilson? Makes zero sense. A one-for-one trade honestly could make sense (would never happen), but neither QB has much value.

Given there's a non zero chance of us actually having something riding on the game v Washington on Xmas Eve, I'm not upset at all about them losing a good pass rusher. Shame they still have the Patriots and Dolphins to play though.

This one just seems weird. I have to imagine they did this with plans to extend him because a 2nd rounder is a pretty high price to pay for a 9 month rental on a bottom level team, especially when they seem willing to let other pieces of their defense leave, a la Jaylon Johnson.

They have two first round picks, both of which will almost certainly be top 5, one of which could be #1, in a draft where multiple teams will be keen to trade up. They have a clear path to lots of draft capital in a draft which AFAIK isn't especially deep in pass rush talent, so trading a 2nd for a proven pass rusher when they've got plenty of cap room with which to extend him seems like not a terrible move to make.
