Am I the only guy who doesn't miss 2D side scrollers? I got my hopes up when they played the first clip until I realized it was a cut scene and not gameplay footage. Is it that hard to make a 3D successor?

2D Metroidvania's are my jam.  I think they're working on a Metroid Prime 4 with the original studio, though.

They’re making a 3D Metroid game (Metroid 4? I don’t remember) but it’s fallen into a black hole with no updates. Was supposed to be holiday 2021 release date but at this point it’s gotta be 2022 earliest
