Northern VA in Alexandria/Arlington has some nice spots.

Single family homes are expensive as freak though.

There are a few condos and co-ops that have caught my eye in today's listings.

I'm not too concerned with getting an actual house. It's just me for now and I don't need that much space.

Self-draining garage floor tiles. Highly recommend.  Do it.

Took me about 2 hours and I'm an idiot when it comes to home improvement stuff.  Still have to trim pieces to finish the edges, but maybe another day.

Looks great, but why do you need a self draining floor? Isn't that why there's a roof?

Water dripping from car after coming in from rain.  The garage floor was slippery as excrement when any water was on it.  Busted my derriere several times. Dust and dirt also flows through it.

That would be pretty useful in the winter if you park your car in the garage after driving around in the snow

Good luck - I bought a condo (in a very different market, to be fair) a year and a half ago and it's been among the best financial decisions of my life. I'd be paying double my mortgage in rent to be in the same area if I hadn't committed.
