We have vinyl plank in the kitchen and half of the ground floor and it’s freaking dope. It’s this cool grey color and not the type or color of flooring I’m used to. I prefer it to the rest of the house which is hardwood. Carpet in the basement which needs to go.

I think that going with a laminate or LVP that isn't trying to look just like real wood is a smart move.

Getting the new trim and LVP put in today.

Our contractor sent a guy over to get the old carpet and trim/framing out.  He was MAGA Jesse Pinkman.  The dude has "Trump MAGA" painted on the back of his POS truck.

The first thing he said to me is:  "Don't worry, I won't vape in the house"

We definitely wouldn't have had him do the work had we known he was a turd, but he did a solid, efficient job.

The new neighbors aren't getting the best early impression.

Looks good.  Sometimes the people that are a personal trainwreck are really good at one thing.

He was nice enough, I guess.  I was there painting when he was working and he didn't say much.

Came in, took care of business, brought me the invoice, and went on his way.  Just glad my in-laws weren't still in town to see what was parked in the driveway when I drove up.

No, that might interrupt the Jets Super Bowl run.

I'm starting my search for a house. Doing this solo in DC does not leave me with a lot of great options.

A guy on my team moved to Austin from Arlington.  He has a gargantuan home here because of how much money he and his wife made selling their townhome up there.

A guy I know who works in DC has a house out somewhere in Maryland or Virginia, and lives through the week on a boat in DC.

My agent actually sent me a listing for a house boat parked at the Waterfront.

I know I would get a lot more for my money living in VA or MD, but the problem is that I would have to live in VA and MD.

I'm only here on three year orders and if I decide that I don't want to finish those orders out, I can be transferred to the inactive reserves 9 months later. I'm basically just doing this out of curiosity right now since I plan on a career change pretty soon.

I think your best shot is looking in VA
