RavensInsider: Corey Hilliard visited the Jets this week

Missed most of 2014 with a Lisfranc injury.  Veteran depth with some starting experience if he's signed.

Is this what is more having a professional GM? Amazing fill as many holes on the team as possible. I don't think we have seen this in quite some time.

Looking at this guy's history it doesn't seem that he will exactly filling holes

As of right now, we don't have a capable backup tackle.  So signing this guy would fill a hole.  Same with the Vickerson signing - it filled the hole created by Kenrick Ellis signing with the Giants.

Hilliard was one of the better pass protectors in the NFL in 2013.  Nothing wrong with adding veterans with one year deals.  It provides great competition for younger players.

Would this guy  be substantially better than Carpenter stepping in at tackle?

Can Carpenter play guard and tackle at the same time?

No but guard depth is easier to come by than tackle. Meaning we could've just added another guard. And in the event of injury we move Carpenter and plug In the other guard

Not to mention between all the guards we recently drafted and bringing back what's his face. Plus the prospect of drafting a guard/tackle early I would think we could make out ok

I wonder if Colon even makes it or is set as an emergency callback should the need arise.

I'd imagine the draft and his health will be the biggest determinant of his making the roster

There's no guarantee he will make the team, signed for the Vet Min. My concern with Colon starting, he tends to play out of control at times which create stupid penalties. Colon's experience and vet influence isn't as important as some may think.

It's all he brings to the table at this point, and I think it's very important to this franchise if we're planning on bringing in an offensive lineman through the draft.

Even if they dont bring in one via draft, its still valuable with the young guards on the roster (Winters, Aboushi, Dozier).

But we're not lacking experience on the line, we're lacking talent.
