NY Post: Jets expected to pursue CB Byron Maxwell

I'm not sure if I like this move very much.  Maxwell is a very good player, but he's had most of his success in a Cover 3 scheme. 

I trust Todd Bowles (as of right now) when it comes to evaluating cornerbacks though.

I think we'll be in competition for his services. 

Antonio Cromartie is the near-lock this year.  I hope they just sign him quickly and don't view him as a fallback option.  This team needs help at the position.  Just go get him and then spend big money on someone to play the other side.

Our corner situation is far more dire right now. We have nobody

And with Maxwell being at or near the top,  and cornerback getting our last GM fired it makes a lot of sense

My point is that there's no guarantee we'll "grab" him no matter how hard we pursue, within reason.

Yea, his Wife wouldn't let him sign with the Jets. She wanted no part of NYC.
