lolololololololol.

I mean lets hope this is something driven by Woody and not the new brain-trust actually thinking he'd come back here for anything less than an overwhelming monetary offer. They'd have to blow the Bills and Pats out of the water. Why else would he come back? The coach he loved playing for is gone.

So typical. Lets get involved a year too late.

Upon taking a minute and thinking about this rationally, I understand the new guys evaluating our needs and free agency, and planning to go after the best player at a need position. However, to look at things through that lens and disregard all the baggage isn't living in the real world.

I will say at least it'll be nice if Buffalo ends up overpaying for him. So that he's no longer on the Pats, and we don't have to overpay his derriere

Then he can leave Buffalo and retire a Dolphin

Smart to sow those seeds. It gives Revis more bargaining power with the Patriots, meaning they either have to pay him full whack or cut him. Even if the Jets don't sign him, it either gets him out of Foxboro or forces them to use an astronomic amount of cap space on him.

We are facing tampering charges for this very player, and this comes out.  I know it isn't possible for such a classy organization, but the Patriots leaked this.

Would they really leak something that would make it harder for them to keep their best player?

Just for us to get hit with an extremely miniscule fine, if that?

Schefter is a known Patriot puppet, and any negative publicity for another takes the heat off themselves.  At the very least, gives the piranhas something to feed on.

Didn't schefter also say Buffalo was expected to be the main competition along with the Jets?

Doesn't seem like puppetry to me

Adam Schefter rooted for the Jets before he got into the business

(and probably still does, he just can't say it)

This.

With so much uncertainty at CB, a plethora of needs to be addressed in the draft, a massive amount of cap space, and  the importance of CBs  in Bowles system.

This should be a no brainer.

Worst case scenario you force someone to overpay.

He seems fine playing these year to year deals. I wouldn't be interested unless we can get him for 2 or 3 years while we find out what we have exactly with Milliner and McDougle.

We could just convert Milliner to safety And kill two birds with one stone.

Dunno how confident I am in a CB coming off a torn Achilles.

Anyways it could be a moot point. Who has any idea what motivates Revis aside from money. A SB win and he might be content with freelancing every year. Or maybe he starts choosing winning over money.

It'd be nice to at least get him in the building if he doesn't resign.

The first order of business should be locking down Mo long term and then assessing  how much room we have long term after.

But it's nice to hear they're kicking the wheels on anything after Idzik lol

Our team isn't even the building till Tuesday when we are supposed to start making plans for the first time. How can our plans be leaked before we even develop said plan?

What the hell. Bring the future HOFer back to NY. We got cash, if the alternative is lighting it on fire (what Idzik did) then might as well use it on the best.
Need a new one for a new board...
