Meh

We have Ivory and can likely resign Bilal

Why would we re-sign that pile of turds?  This team needs to get better.

Chris Ivory is a committee back, but still holds a lot of value for us right now.  If someone like Shanahan becomes the Offensive Coordinator here, Ivory is not the best fit in a zone scheme.  Not sure he has the best vision, but he can still be a factor as a complimentary back.

This RB class is deep, so we can probably find a solid player in the middle rounds.  Shanahan had success in WSH and CLE with guys like Alfred Morris and Isaiah Crowell.  Mike Maccagnan was part of an organization that found Arian Foster as an undrafted free agent.

Ben Tate is a name to keep an eye on.  He had a rough season bouncing around, but he is a nice fit in the zone blocking scheme that Shanahan calls and Maccagnan is familiar with him.

If we are looking at Kubiak or Shanahan as an OC, we need better RBs.
We also need better wrs, tes, QB, lt,rt, LG, rg, C

If we could get better or younger at any of those positions, would you rather another running back instead?

If you can get TJ Yeldon in the 3rd you take TJ Yeldon in the third, its that simple. Same goes for Ameer Abdullah.

Duke Johnson
Jay Ajayi
Buck Allen

Tight End and Center?  STFU

This team could have much better RB play under Kubiak or Shanahan...but they'd need a player that fits.

we don't have a single tight end capable of blocking at all

Cumberland is terrible ( the data on him was posted elsewhere here), and Amaro still has a way to go. Though he's promising, but dual tight end offenses can do some good stuff

Mangold is 31,expensive, and declining. Love the guy, but it wouldn't hurt to get another interior guy who can play guard and  center. At the least grooming his replacement

lol. you forgot to mention that we need younger and better players at every single defensive position as well.
My dad always says he's undefeated at tailgating

Maybe it's not I who doesn't know what he's talking about

Not as much. Our dl looks pretty nice, Davis, Pryor we got a few good young guys. Plenty of holes too, but not like our offense. The offense is basically just a black hole

Why in the hell should we waste a draft pick on a guy that's basically a smaller offensive lineman?  You can find someone to fill that role in FA for pennies.

I expect Johnson to be the 3rd back gone some time in the 2nd or I would've thrown him on the list.
Buck Allen would be a very good pick if we get Kubiak or Shanahan with that zone blocking scheme.

Also Mike Davis in the 3rd or 4th wouldn't be a terrible pick.

I don't know about him as a pro.  He's a very talented all-purpose back, but his own position coach was shitting all over him at a clinic that I went to last summer.

Sounds like he has horrible work ethic.

Clay Burton as a UDFA. There you go, problem solved.

Fine, completely scratch center off

The rest of the offense then. You've been arguing about how terrible the OL is for a while. And anyone whose watched football the last 6 + years knows how inept everyone in our passing attack is

Tevin Coleman would be the ideal player for us to draft if Shanahan comes in.

I was talking about the tight end situation...but OK.

I'm fine with drafting a younger center in the later rounds.  I thought Dalton Freeman held his own when Mangold went down though.

We're not talking about drafting a running back 6th overall here...we can find a quality back in the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th round.  Maybe even later.

With all the gaping holes on our team I'm saying drafting a running back in the first 3 rounds would be a mistake

Especially since we can get decent stopgap for pennies, as it's such a devalued position.

Sure if you're convinced a guy is going to be the next. Barry Sanders that's different (which is essentially a completely unrealistic scenario)

But I think we'd be better off shopping for used cars to fill the vacancy.

Chris Johnson, Adrian Peterson, Ray Rice, trent Richardson (probably cut or traded cheap) , multiple buffalo running backs will all be free agents. I expect this to be a relatively deep free agent running back class.

No need to waste a prime pick.
