Breer and Rapoport both have it as a done deal. Apparently the Raiders offered him Director of Pro Personnel working for Reggie.

Now I am officially frustrated with this entire process. They could have interviewed him last week and did nothing until the 2 most dysfunctional franchises offered him positions and lost the only guy that has been extremely successful not in 1 place but in 2. I still don't understand how you reach out to 10 people but not him until it's so late in the process.

I am going to send Scott the Drunk a bottle of Scotch weekly for the next year and send Woody a bag of dicks so he can eat it.

I love when I get excited by a title of a thread, only to be crushed as a scroll through the comments

it's pretty clear that Scot the Drunk wanted a GM position.  His resume speaks for itself, but given his personal problems it would've been a risky GM hire for Woody.  Director of Player Personnel would've made more sense for us.

This. 1000 times.

Lol everyone's jumping off the cliff already?

We have one guy who snubbed us specifically and he has butt buddies in Chicago.

While he would've been a huge score the guy cones with a major caveat. And him having a hard on for Allen as Iggy mentioned kinda seals the deal in their favor and willingness to offer full control.

I'm happy for him, I'd be lying if I , like many others, weren't interested but not the end of the world.

Why isn't McCloughan-to-D.C. done yet? One issue is that other teams are still pursuing him.

Profootballtalk reports Scot McCloughan's hiring as the Redskins' general manager is not a done deal, and that the Raiders and Jets continue to pursue him.
PFT's Mike Florio reports there's also still wrangling over who'd have final say in Washington, McCloughan or team president Bruce Allen. The deal appears very likely to go through, but nothing is certain when an irrational presence like owner Daniel Snyder is involved.

If he's arguing over full control in DC it's pretty shocking to believe he'd take a lesser role.

This all seems like posturing in his camp for full control in DC

I was a little confused with the redskins situation since they had a GM. Apparently the current GM is changing to team president or something along that line

I thought he was originally interviewing to be second to the GM in Washington, with increased roster control or something.

Never mind me
