No argument that if you came to Wayne's World for the first time now it wouldn't as funny.
There are entire scenes in that movie that would either not make sense or be funny unless you remember the early 90s. I do like it though, but, Jesus, Airplane is hilarious. There are pop culture references in that movie too, but Airplane certainly doesn't rely on them like the WW movies did.

Airplane just relies on its flawless execution of every single joke it attempted.

I have no issue with pop culture references, and yes, any movie that's reliant on them depends upon you having been there.

My problem with Airplane! is nothing to do with cultural references and everything to do with the fact the humour is unbelievably childish. It's a bunch of greeting card gags wrapped up in a movie script.

Never heard of him. What do you think to the comedy in the link I posted?

I have the volume down, got a kid trying to go down for a nap. I just saw the description of the video and instantly thought of Youngman.

I just had a quick listen to Henny Youngman on Youtube, the guy I posted is Tim Vine - sounds very much like a modern English version. All quickfire one-liners. Tim Vine is incredibly popular, but I hate his style of comedy. There's a lot of similarity to Neilson except for the difference in format.

Just because two parties attempt the same thing doesn't mean both are good or both are bad.
