Sad part is that's a pretty funny cast. But the idea seemed bad to me to begin with .

It's been more than 30 years and this movie's characters are even more obvious caricatures than the original. Ray and Eagon were the nerds, Venkman was the play by his own rules type, and Winston was the outsider. He wasn't even an exaggerated token black guy, he just happened to be black.

In this one they purposely have very defined roles for each, including casting a token black woman to give attitude and say excrement like "daaaayuum" or "oh no u diint". It's embarrassing.

The funny thing is that someone recut the trailer in a way that doesn't look bad.  Whoever put together the one that's out there should never work again.  At this point, it's doomed.  I'm not sure why people are rooting against it any more than other unnecessary remakes.

That trailer is infinitely better than the first one.  A few thoughts:

1)  The ghosts look phenomenal.  That might be the movie's saving grace.
2)  I actually laughed twice.  More like a chuckle, but ok.
3)  I find three of the Ghostbusters funny in one thing or another, but not really so much here.  They still haven't made me believe Leslie Jones is funny in the slightest, but she's a lot more like Winston here.
4)  The whole dropped crowdsurfing thing is really overdone and is the "that's gonna leave a mark" of this trailer.  Drawing attention to the race or lady thing just makes it worse.

I still don't have an interest in seeing it, but after that trailer, if my wife or kids want to see it, I might say ok to the $6 showing.
