I read somewhere that a lot of the proceeds are going to go to the actual Miners, many of whom are pretty poor. Hope it does well just for their sakes.

I hadn't heard that, but now I'll root for the movie to have success. I had the same reaction as SFD when I first heard about it.

My wife and her sisters saw it in Chile a few weeks ago.  They said it was pretty amazing.  I (along with millions of other people around the world) watched the story unfold live, so there is obviously a market.  I am still surprised that Pedro Pascal (GoT) wasn't cast in it.  He's the only Chilean actor I have ever heard of.

And yes, a portion of the proceeds from the book and the movie are going to the miners.

My suspicions were correct.  I don't know if it belongs in here, but The Good Dinosaur is not a good movie.  Kids liked it, but all of the parents we were with walked out glad it was over.  Beautiful landscapes though.
