Woody hired Charley Casserly & Ron Wolf as consultants

Jets owner Woody Johnson is preparing to hire former Texans and Redskins GM Charley Casserly as a consultant in the event the organization decides to make any changes, per league sources.

The jobs of Jets head coach Rex Ryan and John Idzik both are very much in jeopardy and, should the Jets make any changes, Johnson would be ready to move forward with the football expertise and manpower he would need surrounding him.

bai Idzik.

Woody wouldn't hire a consultant if he planned on keeping Idzik.

"Well-well look. I already told you: I deal with the god damn free agents so the coaches don't have to. I have cap skills; I am good at dealing with people. Can't you understand that? What the hell is wrong with you people?"

A league source said Casserly will not be involved in the decision of whether to keep Idzik and/or Rex #nyj

Charley Casserly won't have a say in whether the Jets fire Ryan and/or Idzik, per sources. His input would be during the GM, HC searches.

get it done, Woody.

That may be so but if Woody is talking with Casserly about anything you better believe he is telling him that there no better options out there for a head coach than the one he has already!

I am very encouraged with this news, it looks like we may be keeping Rex after all and that gentleman is the best news that can happen to this organisation right now.

freaking busted out laughing when I saw this, nicely done.

Any help from football people is good, I like Casserly. Still hope we keep Rex but if we're making changes Woody needs better help than he got from whoever he consulted that got us Idzik.
So it turns out, Italian Seafood was right an everyone can go freak themselves.

Rex is gone, man.

The Casserly hire, if anything, means we may be rid of John Idzik too.

Not necessarily. The time to hire a knowledgeable consultant is before making a major decision like firing your GM and/or coach.

Actually it's been reported that he will not be brought in unless changes are made.

This isn't Woody's first day on the job.  He's bringing Casserly in to help with the search after he cans those 2 clowns.
