Looks like a re-imagining of the original

I guess Chris Pratt is going to be one of the new big movie stars for the next 10-15 years.

They created a new dinosaur? Ugh. I guess they had to go with an entirely new concept.

Actually, I think it's a straight sequel.

Premise from IMDB...
Twenty-two years after the events of Jurassic Park, Isla Nublar now features a fully functioning dinosaur theme park, Jurassic World, as originally envisioned by John Hammond. This new park is owned by the Masrani Corporation. Owen (Chris Pratt), a member of Jurassic World's on-site staff, conducts behavioral research on the Velociraptors. After many years, Jurassic World's attendance rates begin to decline and a new attraction, created to re-spark visitor interest, gravely backfires.

Looks pretty good. I dunno, almost a bit campy.

IATA is right, it's a sequel.

Not sure what else they could do that wouldn't be totally recycled from the previous movies.

But based on the little we see in the trailer the new one is pretty predictable. A smarter, bigger, spikier, scarier velociraptor.

The reason the first was so successful was that it was an original concept and the special effects were way ahead of its time. Like "OMFG a T-Rex! Wow!"

Now I feel that even kids will go to theatres with a "meh. Dinosaurs. Big deal." attitude.

People forget the first one was a book adaptation. Not that most of the audience knew that.

I don't think this will bomb but it won't break any box office records.

I might go see it but Pratt was so good in Guardians, I may give this a shot just because he is entertaining. I can't play the sound at work to judge.

Really sad that Chricton is gone. I've read most of his books. The dude can really take amazing technologies and find some kind of flaw to turn them into thrillers.
