He's officially retiring
I've dreamt of this day for years.

I’ll believe he is done when he isn’t on a roster week 1

Also call the Bucs offer them #4 for Mike Evans since they need to start over and are about to lose Godwin in FA.

If he was still playing for the Pats, I would enjoy this a lot more. As it is, I don't really care. Still disappointed we couldn't beat him that last time.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Tom Brady does plan to retire and says the pushback is based on the timing of the news rather than the validity.
This has always seemed like the most likely option, as Brady may have wanted to wait for this news to come out or perhaps announce it himself rather than having it leaked by national reporters. Numerous sources indicate the Buccaneers have yet to hear that Brady is retiring, but both Rapoport and ESPN's Adam Schefter have now said that the 44-year-old's final NFL game is behind him. We'll wait for Brady himself to confirm in the coming days or weeks, but it seems likely that the greatest football player ever is hanging it up.

I love how Brady's dad still calls him Tommy like he's in elementary school

Based on Brady’s contract, he’s set to be paid $15-million from his $20-million signing bonus on February 4th. If Brady retires before then, however, he wouldn’t be owed that money.

Probable answer to why he denied retiring for now.

^Beautiful. The Harris and Allen INTs were the ones I was looking forward to the most.

That Harris INT was the most important play in that game, that was the 'wait a minute, we can compete with these guys' moment, and we then kicked their freaking derriere.

So goddamn slow though.  He ran like a 350 lb lineman.
