Love NYC. Went to 3-4 Irish pubs, Carmine’s, and a French brunch place, and every server we got had a legit Irish, Italian or French accent, correspondingly. Our servers name at Carmine’s was Pierluigi or something to that effect.

This seems like a very positive move on a political and ethical level, but it seems a little fiscally irresponsible. Would it not have been in the interest of the pension fund to divest itself of the funds and then announce it had done it, rather than pre-emptively announce and risk damaging the value of the stocks that you're about to dump?

New York’s Department of Corrections and Community Supervision will receive the tablets for inmates as part of a deal with JPay, a company that specializes in corrections-related services, a DOC spokesperson said. The company will provide the tablets as part of a contractual agreement the state DOC entered with the company. No state funds will go toward the tablets.

I'm guess the cost recovery model comes from inmates paying to access ebooks, learning materials etc.
