Apparently Holder has said that the DoJ will conduct a federal investigation into the case.

I don't know why you still have grand juries, they seem incredibly flawed. I don't think really anywhere else in the world convenes them any more, it seems to make far more sense to have the wisdom of pursuing a case to be determined by legal experts than by laymen with their ignorance and their biases.

That's messed up. The cop should at the very least be fired.

Grand juries are a terrible practice. If a prosecutor wants to persue a case they can always get an indictment. If they don't want to they just mail it in like in these two national cases.

It's a sham that protects the prosectuer from any real criticism.

I was in Bushwick Brooklyn as this was announced. Luckily  no one mistook me for a cop on my walk to the car

If Twitter is to be believed, it's really kicking off in NYC. Although you don't need to worry - you have your own army:

Strangely prescient words.

Bloomberg from what I hear isn't a nice guy to work for. I have very good sources in regards to this.

I heard he fired an IT guy working in city hall because he caught him playing solitaire on the computer.

That sounds about right. They have a huge set of couches in the Bloomberg common/cafeteria area, management (Bloomberg and his equally assinine #2) got pissed people were sitting on them during lunch breaks, and roped them off. Now no one is allowed to sit on them. lol

I don't have a lot to say about this whole thing this morning, but I do want to give credit where due. I unloaded on Mayor DeBlasio last night for choosing to skip the tree lighting (thinking he was cowarding out). Instead, he held a press conference to directly address the situation. Well done on his part.

Skipping the tree lighting is still cowardly.

By the way, Sean Bell was killed by a black cop. No protests. Outrage, sure. But I don't remember anyone going nuts over it.
