for me personally it's already up there as one of the faves along with shaun of the dead. i plan on watching invasion of the body snatchers later this week (not sure if it's actually a zombie flick?)

I haven't seen that yet but I'm pretty sure they aren't zombies.

Just added it to my list since it's free on Prime.

Watched 5 Kurosawa movies since last week: Rashomon, Seven Samurai, Throne of Blood, The Hidden Fortress, and Yojimbo

That's a dope-derriere week.  What prompted the binge?

All of these are great but Yojimbo is one of my favorite all time movies because A Fistful of Dollars is also one of my favorite movies.

One of my favorite facts is that Kurosawa sued Sergio Leone, saying that Fistful infringed on Yojimbo because it was an uncredited shot-for-shot remake (it was), and wound up making more money off of the Fistful royalties than the Yojimbo royalties.

You also have Hidden fortress to thank/blame for most of A New Hope’s plot and the thieves specifically were the inspiration for R2D2 and C3PO’s relationship.

I've been watching a lot of movies since March (eased up during MLB season) with a some focus on classic/big movies, and sometimes I pick a director and go on a run with a select handful of their work.

I actually read up on that yesterday. Pretty funny.

It also prompted me to watch Leone's two "Once Upon a Time" movies once I find a way to stream the America one.

Leone is definitely one of my favorite directors. I spent a lot of my college years rewatching his movies.

Also any sitcom that lasts long enough will inevitably do a Rashomon episode.

I’m not afraid to admit that my favorite one is King of the Hill’s.

I'm partial to the X-Files one myself.

Watched What About Bob? looking for something light and instead it just dredged up a lot of memories of my own Bob situation from years ago. DR. MARVIN DID NOTHING WRONG.
