Preseason week 2
« on: August 16, 2014, 10:21:37 PM »
Apparently the Colts absolutely wrekt the Giants going into the 4th quarter 23-0

Although somehow the Giants won it 27-26, but the Giants seem so so bad

Anything else interesting happening this week, other than 4 billion penalties?

Blake Bortles looked good, and so did Mettenberger.

Of course, the obligatory, it was against scrubs will probably follow.

Bortles has looked like the guy Jacksonville hoped they were getting. Smart, low key, and pluses physically across the board without having any great traits. Henne has been solid and I expect him to start, but I wouldn't be surprised if Blake gets the call around week ten if they're either out of it (which they shouldn't be) or can get in the playoffs with a spark.

I was honestly disappointed that we didn't trade up for him.  It would have cost a lot, and then I was hoping from round 3 on, that we would take Mettenberger, after Bortles was taken.

I am not sold on Smith, albeit he has taken some strides.  I am rooting for him, and I truly hope he pans out.  However, right now, I have some pretty high hopes that Bryce Petty is there for the taking next year.

Petty is coming out of basically the same system that Smith played in at WVU.

I'd rather have Mariota, Winston, and Hundley if Smith craps the bed.

The system will hurt Petty, but he's a guy that I think teams will be really excited about developing.  I'd take his physical tools over Geno's any day.

Side note, I think Hundley's the best of the three IF he continues to develop, because if he came out last year he wouldn't have been a first round player.

I am not sure either the Redskins nor the Browns have an offensive line.
