You did marketing for the film, right?  All they want is to sell tickets, and that's what they've done.

Yeah, but there's more to it than that.  This information would have been helpful in the story we were telling, but whatever.  I don't feel like talking about it anymore.

Wow this thread is stupid.  Fenwyr is the only one who has the right opinion.

This is not like freaking Star Wars.  That's stupid and you know it.  The original trilogy at the very least is more necessary than the Mad Max trilogy by several country miles.

You don't need to see the originals to be able to appreciate this Mad Max.  I don't get how anyone wasn't immediately immersed in Miller's bizarre universe.  This stood on its own.  It really, really didn't need character development.  I went with a couple of long long careered screenwriters.  The best comment?  "Guarantee that script was 5 pages long, and a 6th page would have ruined it."

Seriously, none of this excrement about character development was remotely necessary.  I can't believe the argument is being made let alone being taken so seriously.

LFG

I heard an interview with Charlize Theron a few months ago and she was pretty pissed that she's not going to be in it. Apparently she and Tom Hardy absolutely hated each other, so maybe Miller just didn't want the headache again.

freaking lame. Is Hardy even in this one? I thought it was a spinoff.

Origin story / prequel, so no Theron or Hardy. Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth.

Hardy signed on for three additional films, but not sure how that's gonna work.  He's rumored to be the next Bond.

I am far less excited than when I first opened the thread today.
