Quote from: Libero_2 on April 23, 2026, 08:54:32 PMNot sure he is a great route runner not an in line blocker

He's actually a really good route runner and he did some great things as an in-line blocker at Oregon.

As a jumbo slot, he will be a nightmare for linebackers in the run and pass game.  He's the size of most modern edge players now, so he matches up well in the run game.  He's strong as excrement.

His ability to separate is my favorite thing about him as a pass catcher.

Biggest weaknesses are drops and changing direction. Elite in a straight line

I just think simply and figured they got Mason Taylor last year and would just roll with him.  In retrospect, it makes sense if you think of Sadiq as a pass catcher and not a TE.  I didn't consider that, I just looked at position.

On Kenyon Sadiq, have texted with some coaches on other teams. Comparison that keeps coming up:

Vernon Davis.

Mason Taylor lacks dynamism and this was a weak (high end) WR draft. Multiple good TEs is a good thing and the easiest shortcut to improving this offense

Obviously a ceiling comp but I agree with this

Quote from: Heismanberg on April 24, 2026, 08:07:18 AMThey are on the field together.

Frank Reich loves 12 personnel.  This relegates Ruckert to special teams unless he competes with Andrew Beck for FB/HB and wins that spot.

These guys will be on the field at the same time in our base offense:

Garrett Wilson
AD Mitchell/Omar Cooper Jr.
Kenyon Sadiq
Mason Taylor
Breece Hall

This is a really solid foundation for a QB.

Reich seemed adorably excited during the call.

Reich is pretty amped. Letting an OC actually get his guy? In round 1? And not a QB? What team is this?

I do think he's our riskiest pick so far and kind of incongruous with our other two selections, who feel "safer".

Wait until he absolutely framemogs every single player on the opposing defense
