But I do not expect it is going to be an easy transition to stardom for Sadiq. It also will not be easy as jets fans will compare him to Warren and Bowers that went in the years before him.
Yep, he's nowhere near the prospect of Warren, Loveland or Bowers. That said, I think they will be looking for him to be our version of Bowers in terms of usage.

He's an absolute freak athlete, but it takes the right staff to maximize him. Are the Jets that staff? Probably not.

At least we only passed on Lemon and maybe Cooper.  Not a ton else we picked him over.

Quote from: bojanglesman on April 23, 2026, 09:14:27 PMI guess Ruckert is just a fanboi at this point.

Why did we pay him? It's not a huge deal, but locking him in for two years $10-11M to be TE3 seems like a less than ideal use of money.

Sadiq is a phenomenal talent. People should not get caught up in the combine stuff because he was very visibly a unique type of dude on the field, even last year when they still had TFerg. I think he will be used in a variety of ways to maximize him while Taylor is the more traditional option in-line, and they will absolutely be used together. His versatility as a big slot should allow us to different things offensively in the long term.

Lemon should have been the pick, but I am ok with it.

The only reason Sadiq was considered a likely top-40 pick entering the season was because people knew he was a freak athlete. When he gets going, you can tell the athleticism is special.

Hopefully it translates to pass catching production in the NFL.

He doesn't need to be good this year on this trash-derriere team, he has until 2027.

All the gaping holes on this roster and this is the pick a TE?

Wonderful

Can we get Raiderjoe back on here, he would love this guy.

Quote from: bojanglesman on April 23, 2026, 08:51:35 PMNot sure what we do with Mason Taylor besides bench.

They are on the field together.

Frank Reich loves 12 personnel.  This relegates Ruckert to special teams unless he competes with Andrew Beck for FB/HB and wins that spot.

These guys will be on the field at the same time in our base offense:

Garrett Wilson
AD Mitchell/Omar Cooper Jr.
Kenyon Sadiq
Mason Taylor
Breece Hall

This is a really solid foundation for a QB.

Quote from: Cane on April 23, 2026, 09:18:26 PMLemon should have been the pick, but I am ok with it.

I would've been cool with Lemon, but now we have three legitimate slot options in Wilson, Cooper, and Sadiq.

Reich SHOULD be able to create more mismatches this way.

Was hoping or thinking it was a prank call?  Kidding, pretty obvious he actually did think it was a prank because he seemed to get emotional once he realized it wasn't.
