Speaking of back, are we getting the Captain? Seems like he's trying. Said Saturday is a long way off. Apparently he went down to Somerset to hit yesterday before the game.

I wonder if Stanton is even on the roster next round. They're going to need to carry more pitchers.

I don't expect Judge to be on the roster, but we'll see.

Rosters lock 3:30 Saturday

His lane would prob be game 3 back in NY. They dont want him on the turf in Tampa

My dad always says he's undefeated at tailgating

Maybe it's not I who doesn't know what he's talking about

Feels like Stanton and Volpe, maybe to a lesser degree Rosario arent needed as much in this series.

Def need to add a pitcher and free up a spot if Judge can go

Leave Rosario and McMahon off the roster and keep Stanton and Volpe. Stick Volpe at third. I'd rather see him than McMahon or Rosario.

I wonder how many pitchers they'll carry. I have no information on the thinking, but I wouldn't be surprised if the WC roster was a case of believing they needed to stick with the starters as long as possible because the bullpen is a crapshoot.

Seems like Rosario would be the first one to go, whether that's for a pitcher or for Judge. I assume it's Rosario on, Weathers off.

If Judge is active and they want 11 pitchers, then I assume it's Judge and Weathers for Rosario and Stanton.

With no games on back-to-back days, they could theoretically go with 10 pitchers again.

Alio, agree about Rosario but respectfully not about Volpe and his weak chicken wing all the way over at 3rd.  Am no fan of McMahon hitting but would want his ARM at 3rd especially late in the game.

Also agree with keeping Judge off the synthetic turf.

Save him for LA. :-)

I hear you. I'm just tired of watching Rosario and McMahon do nothing. At least I have a shred of hope with Volpe.

You all got your wish. He's off the ALDS roster.

Coming from a transparent Yankee-hater, this is the first time since maybe 2010 that I had genuine concern that you guys could win it all.

Not 2017-19, 2022 or 2024?

I know the 2017 run was a surprise but they had as good a shot as anyone that postseason.

2017 was the only other year I had to think twice about but, ultimately, I never felt you were getting past the Astros and Dodgers.

AlioTheFool

I just don't know that this team can both get past a Tampa team that already took the season series, then a Dodgers team that's better than the one that beat us last time. Not without two of our three best hitters.

This game kinda crystalized my confusion about your estimation of this team - there was no reason for me to believe they wouldn't do the usual postseason thing where they forget how to hit.

It's not over, but tonight was a reminder of the problems that have plagued this team in the postseason.
