I watched with no sound because I was working, but I hated every part of that broadcast other than the Yankees winning.

What was with the drunk ump cam?

That was a pretty rough broadcast. Jameis is entertaining, but I don't really need him during the game. Bert is pointless.

I guess their plan is to have people scrolling Netflix stop on the game and find all the nonsense entertaining. Don't think that's going to work.

The font size for the hitter and pitcher was so comically small.

Netflix should never touch an MLB broadcast ever again.

This whole broadcast was nothing but glazing netflix properties, interviews in the middle of the game for no reason, constantly missing action and bad cameras.

This is by far the worst broadcast I've ever seen and its not close.

Stop bringing people on to talk over the whole game while we can't even keep up because the scorebug gets taken away and Matt can't do play-by-play while Bert Kreischer is being obnoxious or Jey Uso and whomever Jameis is talking about WWE to push those netflix numbers up. How about Lauren picking the worst times to interview the managers and adding literally nothing to the show whatsoever. Just a garbage fire from top to bottom.

Derek Smalls

I don't really blame the on-air talent at all. The announcers were fine. Lauren is fine. Jameis was as entertaining as you could ask for. Bert was a waste of time, but the others were good. And you could tell some of the cameras were extremely clear.

But Rafael Devers looked like a hologram. And they missed the first ABS replay. And they were late coming back a few other times. And I don't need to see Bert Kreischer floating in a lake during a game. And the scorebug was awful.

Bert is the worst no matter what

Yeah, Devers blending into the backstop screen was weird. It's like that Teams effect when someone uses an image for their background but Teams can't properly discern the actual space around that person. You're a multibillion-dollar entertainment company that's had months to work out the kinks. Awful.

That said, the broadcast has me locked in to watch Apex.

WFAN/Audacy running ads for adult diapers. Rough.

Tommy

Speaking of Bert Kreischer, I have no idea how that dude is as popular as he is. Hes an awful comedian and even worse off the cuff. Ever seen him in a roast? Oof.
"Wrong!"

Maybe it's not I who doesn't know what he's talking about

AlioTheFool

You can put a star next to that too. How many of those guys who made the majors were Clint Fraziers and Justus Sheffields?

I assume those numbers also include the crazy number of guys we shipped out at trade deadlines, for mediocre players, that wound up making their teams and disappearing within a year or two.

That said, the past few years I've grown increasingly impressed with the talent coming up. Positionally, we still leave something to be desired. For every Judge, there's a Peraza. But the pitching talent has been unreal. Both the front office and the coaching staff (Matt MFing Blake) get tons of credit for that.

Way too early to get upset, but the A's? Really?

Nick Kurtz (and his bat) would look good in pinstripes.
