Unless we get a decent QB in here this year, we are gonna be derriere again.  Free agent QB options are pretty grim looking.  They'd be smart to draft Simpson just to selfishly buy themselves some grace, but this team is facking baaaad.

Is he? Apart from one season under Pederson, who is actually a competent coach, Reich has been derriere. He sucked as Chargers OC before Philly and he sucked everywhere else he's been since.

False

Per Cimini:

Pros: Former HC with a lot of play-calling experience. Had a top-10 scoring offense in 3 of 5 seasons as Colts' HC. Accustomed to QB instability (5 different starting QBs in Indy), which should prepare him for what he's about to encounter with the Jets. Relaxed, even-keeled personality should help him deal with the rollercoaster that is the Jets.

I think you are overestimating what I mean by competent.  My definition is closer to "not a trainwreck/embarrassing". I don't know that he will be any better than Engstrand, but I think he may help Glenn more in the HC/decision-making department.  At least he'll have someone who has been a HC before.

No idea how much of an impact Reich will have, but i do know he has experience and is a steady hand for this offense.  He's developed QBs in the past, and on paper is the best OC hire we've made in 2 decades.

Given the garbage we've hired recently for the OC position, i'm mildly optimistic for this.  Let's see who they bring in for a QB.

I'd be OK with us acquiring Brissett

Same.  I don't know if Arizona would trade him, seeing as they are in the same QB draft quagmire as us.

Libero_2

I would be curious about the Andy Dalton experience. He could give us what McCown did in 2017. Given all the turmoil since then, that certainly could be fun, while also still being bad enough to fire everyone and draft a brand new shiny QB in the top 3 next year
Need a new one for a new board...

This is the type of comment I've made 100 times,  then looked back a year later and laughed at myself.

SNYS Connor Hughes believes Jacoby Brissett is a potential trade target for the Jets

Brissett checks the boxes of has worked for Frank Reich before and is a functional NFL quarterback The real question is Why would the Cardinals give him up He averaged 240 yards per start and threw 23 touchdowns in just 12 starts Arizona has reportedly been more interested in moving on from Murray than Brissett who GM Monti Ossenfort drafted in New England and made a priority to sign last offseason Wed be surprised if the Jets could do this without getting fleeced by Arizona

Brissett might ask to be traded.  the Cards hired MLF for their HC and they hired Tuggalicious to be their OC about 10 mins ago.

I'm sure he can't wait to leave that situation for the Jets.

I never thought i'd utter this phrase in my lifetime...but.  The Jets situation, imo, is better than Arizona's.

we have a better oline, we don't play in the NFC West,  our coaching staff (on paper) is better now.

the only thing Arizona has is a stud TE.
