i like that he spent time scouting before coaching. if he/this works here, one of the reasons will be because he works very closely and very well with the GM in molding the squad in unison. need to find the GM now.

i actually think saleh and douglas did this very well with regards to identifying and signing low risk, no-name defensive talent and developing them here. however, we didn't do it at all on offense, and douglas made way too many careless mistakes on both sides of the ball.

also echo the concerns / hopes of others that glenn breaks the half-HC / DC mold we've always had and is actually the true CEO of the entire team.

I was pretty hyped when we hired Saleh, but this is different. Glenn has been party to the pain that is Jets fandom, even more than Rex when he came in and talked about his dad.

But at the same time, until I see a great OC and solid GM hire, this whole thing could be a dumpster waiting for a match.

As much as I'm sick of the defensive coordinator to first time head coach pipeline, I love the fact that the last time this organization needed a cultural overhaul, he had a front row seat. And he was also there to watch Dan Campbell change the vibe in Detroit.

It was a weak crop of candidates, I think we were turned down by the more prolific offensive candidates (Brady, Ben Johnson) and therefore out of what we were left with, this was the best guy for the job.
