Have you ever wondered why we stick with this team?  We all pretty much hate the owner, yet support him by going to a game here and there and buying some Jets excrement.  The company line is, "you don't give up on your team because you aren't a bandwagon fan and one day they will win a Super Bowl and it'll mean more if you stuck with them through the tough times".  But would it really?  I feel like if I just forgot the Jets existed until they got better and won a Super Bowl, I'd be happier because I'd enjoy the win and would have avoided all the sadness in between.

I think I stick with the Jets because I don't know anything else.  It's a sinking ship in the middle of the ocean with no other ship in sight.

What if instead of jumping ship, you just abandoned ship?  Why bother with another team?

It's more like this ship has capsized and sunk to the bottom of the ocean and I'm treading water in a shallow air pocket with my face desperately pressed against the hull thinking, "Man, it's gonna be so sweet when we finally get to port."

Gambling and fantasy football take a lot of it now, especially the fantasy stuff. I could never pick another team and root for them unless the Jets moved far away, and even then it might be difficult.

I am kind of running into it now with the Nets. I was a diehard Nets fan for a long time. But after the last Durant/Harden/Kyrie disaster, I can't sit through another rebuild. They already turned me off leaving New Jersey, but I'm not going to follow them until they are good again. The Knicks give me such an easy team to switch to, since they have all my favorite college players, but I still can't get there. But instead of gambling/fantasy, I just don't watch until the playoffs.

I'll be living 10 minutes from Barclay's in a couple weeks.  Let's go to some games and watch the tank live.

I find this to be accurate.

My sports fandom is defined by my friends. I would walk away from this shitball team if I didn't have a friend group that was derived from and defined by it.

So it's your fault.

Getting to Brooklyn kind of sucks for me, but I've never been to a Nets home game since they moved to Brooklyn, and I probably should sometime.

Darnold's last two seasons would unquestionably be the best two-year run in Jets QB history.

Respectfully, Namath had a three-year run 1967-1969

1967 first QB in professional football to throw for 4000 yards

1968 SB MVP

1969 lost in divisional round to Chiefs 13-6 who in turn wiped out the Vikings in SB IV.  Btw, was Jets TE Pete Lamonns in bounds on that would-be TD?
